Travel - Dune resort Pondicherry

We visited the Dune resort during the Pongal holidays and had a wonderful time. The kids loved it. We stayed at the Bamboo house. The bed was large enough to hold 2 adults, a 7 yr old and 2 toddlers. The bathroom was clean and the patio outside with bamboo furniture was good to relax. They provide bicycles to go around the resort. You could see the ocean from the swimming pool and the best time to go in is during hot afternoons. Else the water could be too cold. The private beach access was great. They provided chairs to relax by the beach. At night it was great to sleep with no other noise except the ocean sound. They also have an organic farm where they grow watermelons, pine apple etc. There was also farm animals like ducks, cows, rabbits etc and even a camel! Kids play area was great with sand and slides and swings. There is a kiddie pool as well. They had pottery making and my husband and kids made plates and cups. We stayed for 2 nights and we just spent time at resort itself. Only one night we ventured to Pondy, visited the beach and had dinner there. Beach is little rough and not safe for swimming. Each villa is unique and has different themes. I really want to thank the manager who really goes out of his way to make everyone feel so comfortable.

Pros:-
Great for kids
Eco friendly
Bicycle rides
Private beach access
Pool view
Kids play area with sand, swings, kiddie pool
Good breakfast
Indoor games like Chess and Scrabble
Ample space
Organic farm

Cons:-
Swimming pool too cold and depth to be marked clear – it will be nice if the pool was solar heated
Lunch and dinner does not have buffet – so food becomes repetitive. They should at least have a buffet with few items though not as much as breakfast If buffet is not possible, please expand with more selections or even Chinese food could be added.
Lunch service is slow esp. since many guests came there with kids. Kids will get very cranky when they are hungry.
Can expand on kids activities and also library needs more kids books other than comics
